Ready, Set, Send

Well, there it is ... SENT.

I just wanted to say thanks to the other writers, and to Randal and Susan for the contest.

My big lesson was this: a good, solid three hour writing block is one of my necessities. Even when I spent my three hours at the coffee shop reading over notes, or working on character sketches, or eavesdropping on other people's conversations (i.e. not writing) some teensy bit of work always got done. And the steady practice has yielded fruit. (Imagine that.)
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I have learned that I just need to go to my studio and STAY THERE for three hours every weekday, even, perhaps especially, when it feels like I'm not getting anything done. I have been confused, thinking that a proper writer would have nothing but productive writing time in the studio...

That said, the deadline was also pretty useful.

So, here's to unproductive studio time and inflexible deadlines.

I thought it apropos to slip up the the Wired Monk-Coventry, were I wrote the stories, to submit them.

LUCK to all.
