I'm a country girl.
Today, I needed to relax and reload. I'm a country girl, born and raised and even though like anyone I can survive quite well living just about anywhere, I need the country air to clear out the cobwebs and supply the stillness I so crave.
Today, I visited my favorite place. A beach, with a lighthouse, and Belgian horses whom I dearly love, called Hilda, and Agnes. They are like gentle giants and I desperately needed to smell that 'horsey' smell and to pat their long gentle noses. I was so excited to see them outside grazing when I pulled up in my clunky red truck. I didn't have a treat for them, so they lost interest in me after a minute or two, but not before I clicked off as many pictures as I could before my fingers went numb.
SO! How do YOU relax??

hmmmm....blossoming cherry trees
there's still ice on my river!! Ouch!

To relax
I read George Orwell's 'Politics and the English Language' again this morning. I will go for a walk, admire the blossoming cherry trees, and watch the brilliant daffodils dance in the spring breeze.
I will then pick up my battered copies of ‘The Old Man and the Sea.’ Yes, copies I can’t help but read it in English and Spanish at the same time. I have a wonderful translation of it, one of those that translate the meaning and the emotions not just the words.
This will help clear my head for the arduous task of editing my little novel. Perhaps it will help me to be more concise.
Wired Monk, here I come!
