Luck All

I see 'My Account' says that I have been a member for 1 year 11 weeks. I assume this began when I entered last years contest at the end of January, 2010.

I have learned a lot in the course of this contest. It has been useful to help me hone my writing skills and I am grateful to all the sponsors.

You have all been an inspiration. Thank-you.

Here, I first learned to complete a first draft, fast, fast, fast. To pour myself into the pages, to set goals, and discovered that deadlines force me to rise to the occasion.

With the help of many... some who will read this blog, I grasped how to take that first draft and mould it into a compelling story. Some of those stories have been published.

During last years contest, I wrote a mid-grade urban fantasy.

I spent the last year revising it, writing a synopsis, and finally, a query letter.

I sent that query out to five carefully chosen agents.

Last week, my manuscript was requested by a New York agent.

I'm quite beside myself!

This is the beginning, and she may choose not to represent it, but I'm on my way.

I do not seek fortune, but an audience for my stories.

I wish you all luck. It has been an amazing experience for me.

Congrats

Hey jaw:

Way to go! I have been out of the country for a while so just saw this blog now.

Congratulations! Just having an agent request to see your work is a huge validation of what you are doing. Keep being persistent and I'm certain you'll get this work published as well.

I know how thrilled you must be because I had my book length manuscript accepted for publication over 30 years ago and I almost didn't believe it until I held that hard cover book in my hands. I was numb for days!

So congratulations again, and good luck in this contest as well.

Congratulations for being selected for a review by a publisher agent. You have stated the reason most of us write, to get the story from our mind onto paper and (for someone in the trade to say good job).
Also wish you good luck in this contest, I have enjoyed your blogs through the season.
